SteriTec Products has been recognized as one of this year’s Free Enterprise Honorees, part of the U.S. Chamber’s DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year Awards program, sponsored by Sam’s Club®. This year’s Free Enterprise Honorees are commended for their strong business practices and contributions to the economy.

SteriTec Products Inc. has been awarded the 2009 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. Dale Schuster, President and Lon Bruso, Vice President accepted the award on behalf of SteriTec.

SteriTec has worked with distributors around the world since its inception in 1990. SteriTec recognizes the importance of providing sterility and cleaning assurance products to all hospitals, surgical centers, dentists, canneries and any operation that must sterilize. Their business associates around the globe account for almost 50% of annual sales. Currently, they export products to 48 countries.

Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) pose a significant health problem to patients, practitioners, workers and health services as a whole. Sterility and cleaning assurance products help prevent HAIs. The number of deaths caused by HAIs is on the increase in many countries around the world, and hospitals are struggling to maintain sufficiently high standards, which would reduce the constant threat of infections. On average, worldwide, studies have revealed an average of 9% of hospitalized patients have HAI.
